Happy 80th Birthday Me Ma!!

For Me Ma's 80th birthday, all of her children and most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered together and stayed in a lake house for a few days. It was so fun to see grandma light up about the great grandchildren, the cake, pinata, and gifts. 

The kids swam, ran around, played games, explored, ate and had fun while the adults sat around and chatted.

At one point, 4 year old Brett, who has always been very observant and interested in adults, sat across from Me Ma to have a lengthy discussion with her. What ensued surprised us all. He asked her lots of questions about her birthday, her day, her shirt, her gifts, then with childish curiosity, he asked her why she has "rabbit teeth". She was both surprised and humored by his candor. We were both embarrassed and amused. The conversation lasted much longer than most conversations with a four year old. I think they sat there for a good 35 minutes.

It was fun to be able to celebrate a woman who had lived a good life and loved her family.
